Today (Friday 8th March) marks 2024’s International Women’s Day. Created to both celebrate women’s achievements and raise awareness about what is needed to drive gender equality, it acts as a powerful call to action. As a signatory to the Women in Finance Charter – and with nearly 50% of our workforce female – we continue to be supporters of diversity, both internally and externally. This is why this year’s theme of #InspireInclusion means so much to us.
But what does inclusion look like? And how can one person make a difference? These are some of the topics we covered in this year’s International Women’s Day-themed panel discussion. Featuring four key people from across the business – including Marylen Edwards – Head of Lending – BTL, Ronnie Woods – Head of Unregulated Underwriting, Isabella Emirali – Head of Asset Management and Melanie Norman – Broker Relationship Manager – Team Leader, they sat down to talk about what an inclusive workplace looks like to them, the challenges they’ve faced and how we can encourage more women to join financial services.
